Having graduated with a BFA in fine art photography, my influence on this body of work comes from this practice. Finding ways to expand my interests in photography into my sculptural installations, Tension reminisces on the principle of instilling a moment in time, much like photography. Through this notion, I’m altering the material's properties into a new form and then freezing that action in space. By permanently changing their form, I’m able to study more of the material's strengths and weaknesses. Tension is an ongoing study of my curiosity to alter a material's original form and function to the point of no return, ultimately leaving something new to behold.
